Sorry for the late notice, but this week’s presenter, Marty Hidas from IMOS, has literally just climbed out of his sick bed to prepare a talk for us. Marty will be demonstrating the awesome powers of the IMOS portal as a gateway to near limitless observations of marine stuff. It should be a vital talk for anyone with an interest in marine science who has ever wondered what data sets are available to help their research.
ALSO: Next week we have Ben Galton-Fenzi from AAD giving us the low down on using the TPAC high performance computers for research. The week afterwards we have Roger Proctor from IMOS lined up to tell us about the Marine Virtual Laboratory (known as Marvl – how good is that?) that is being launched nationwide this month.
IMAS Aurora Lecture Theatre – it’s the big lecture theatre on the left as you walk into the waterfront building foyer – 20 Castray Esplanade, Battery Point, next to CSIRO.
