DaSH is slowly getting smarter. Last week I told you all about dumb things you could do (or not do) with data, this week Rowan Trebilco from ACECRC will tell you about “not so dumb things to do when presenting data”. He plans to give a quick overview of some principles for making good data graphics followed by some hints for generating publication quality figures using base graphics in R.
Unfortunately Rowan has no theme song, but this is stuck in my head at the moment…
Remember you can keep up to date with what is happening at DaSH each week via our twitter feed (@DataScienceHobart), on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/datasciencehobart) or by subscribing to the email list (http://tinyletter.com/datasciencehobart). If you follow the twitter feed then you can part of the live tweeting that has been happening recently, just like Q&A. Or, if you are stuck in a time warp from pre 2004 you could try asking someone.
ALSO: Lots of things coming up in the next few weeks. There has been a request for a session giving an intro to Fortran, another one on netCDF operators and Tom and Mike are keen to do a Software Carpentry workshop. Stay tuned for further details.
