This week DaSH continues on its recent Q&A inspired theme: you bring along some questions, others in the session provide the answer. Last week we had some good conversation around a few issues, and I am hoping this will continue. I promise to have a bigger whiteboard this week, and even an eraser. These sessions are designed to delve into genuine data-related issues that attendees are currently having, so bring along your problems, or your wealth of experience and opinion, and let’s see what happens. Even if you don’t have an issues, such sessions are a great way to learn more about data analysis and to find out what other people in the building (and elsewhere) do when they are at their desk.
If you have contact with students (honours or even undergrad) then please encourage them to come along. DaSH should be a great forum for them to learn about data science and the world-leading science that is being done in Hobart.
ALSO: The Software Carpentry sessions have been confirmed for starting on June 26 (for 6 weeks). Advertising in the form of flyers, and posts to social media will be out shortly.
