For our meeting this week we have the brilliant Mike Sumner from the Australian Antarctic Division talking about his sexy new R tools to access multi-dimensional grid data (e.g. satellite data like SST, Chl-a, sea ice concentration, etc.). He will also talk about the importance of map projections and some adventures in working around incomplete or inconsistent metadata, as well as the existing R tools for working with raster and vector data, and building extensible tools from these for extracting data.
